Necessity, they say, is sometimes the mother of invention and circumstances just happened to fall into place as Hanusosky founded High Tech Performance Trailers in 1982. He had been in the automotive restoration business for several years, but always had a love for racing - having spent several years as a crew member with BFGoodrich Tire's off-road racing program. He has personally raced everything from go-karts to Winston Cup Vintage stock cars. He noticed that the racing machines, no matter the venue, were all top of the line, yet the car haulers that brought them to the track lacked the same level of craftsmanship. He thought if he could come up with a custom designed semi-trailer that included both the space for the racing car and a nice lounge and meeting area, that he could develop a business model that would meet the needs of potential customers. It was from this concept that his entrepreneur-ship took hold, and High Tech Performance Trailers was born. He started with one or two semi-trailers per year, and as the new trailers arrived on the racing scene the orders started to increase. The rest, as they say, is history.
High Tech has since expanded our semi-trailers to include custom designed merchandising, mobile marketing, education, training, telemetry, motorcycle, expandable, and race car trailers. High Tech features complete in-house engineering and design teams. Any business that has the desire to go mobile can be accommodated at High Tech. In addition, we feature a turn-key custom awning enclosures and graphics along with in-house paint and graphics departments. Expert craftsmen are employed in all production areas, ensuring customers of the best quality and craftsmanship.
High Tech was named the Painesville Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year for 2003. High Tech has won many awards recognizing their growth and position in the community. They are a three time winner of the distinguished Weatherhead 100 Award and have been recognized eight times as members of the Lake County, Ohio "Fast Track 50", with inclusion in the Fast Track 50 Hall of Fame. In 2002 Hanusosky was also named as a finalist in the prestigious Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year competition.
Today, High Tech is one of the premier companies in Lake County, Ohio. Our recent facility expansion doubles our work space to 85,000 square feet and increases our manufacturing capabilities and quality. High Tech Performance Trailers has a state-of-the-art manufacturing operation featuring 3D-modeling, CNC machining, an 80' painting booth, and a very well maintained facility.
